1-1/2" Scale 1870 Westinhouse Brake Valve

Hello My Friends
I have a few 1870's Westinghouse brake valves on the shelf. They are similar in operation to my other brake valves, with detent located positions for release, lap, service application, and emergency application. They are different from the other brake valves in that instead of a spring loaded plunger in the operating handle to locate the positions they have a hairpin spring that you can see sticking up from the handle. All castings are bronze, the surface that the valve disc rotates on is aluminum bronze and the valve disc is cast iron. The detent ring is hardened steel. Main air inlet and outlet to the brake cylinders are 3/16" model pipe threads. The outlet to the brake line gauge is 1/16" tube and has a 1/16" union. If there is sufficient interest I will make up some 1" diameter pressure gauges with 1/16" bottom connections and unions. If you are building an early locomotive you might consider this valve.

I should consider getting one and building a locomotive around it!

Jack, I have a 1-1/2" scale Southern 4-4-0 (built by the late Frank deSantis) with working straight air. The prototype was built by Rogers in 1882.

Do you have one of these valves available, and if so, may I ask your price?

My thanks in advance, for your response.

Hello My Friends
Yes I have a few of the 1870 Westinghouse valves in stock. They are the same price as the S6 valves $650.00.
