New vintage flared tender kit at Allen Models

Allen Models is pleased to announce the third addition to our laser cut tender kit lineup, the vintage tender. The vintage tender features the same overall dimensions as the standard 30" tender, with the addition of a 1" tall flare at a 20 degree angle, and a new pattern of double staggered horizontal cosmetic side rivets modeled after a popular prototypical 19th century tender design. The baffle plate been modified to be compatible with both this rivet pattern and the modern pattern.

The flares are pre-bent with a CNC press brake, and the flare corners are laser cut and then stamped with a die to form their shape. This is all done for you, so it is no more difficult to assemble than the modern tender. Simply match-drill the flare corners to the side and rear flares and attach. This is all a part of our focus at Allen Models of making it easier for the builder.

This tender was initially designed for the Fitchburg Northern, but will look good with any of the classic Allen engines.

The tender kits are in-stock and available now, and we will be adding photos of the kit and an assembly in the coming weeks.

Allen Models is please to announce this new Fitchburg Northern Tender Tank kit. This has been a long time coming. The Price to this seems high compare to the other tanks. Reason is more CNC bends and the tooling cost for the corner piece in the rear. I have 1,500.00 more dollars invested in tooling to get things to come about. This price is introduce price. It will go up after enough to cover cost. We in the future are going to add other discounts on this and other sets of castings, as in the Arch Bar truck that goes with this Tender Kit.
