Earlier this year I made a General Railway Signal induction pick-up head and electric junction box to complete some of the last needed details on my passenger locomotive. Back in the day, GRS offered a train control system consisting of the pick-up head, conduit boxes, and a relay box. On the NYC Mohawk #2933 in St. Louis, several conduit boxes can be found on the locomotive and tender that carry the wired connections up to the cab switch and signal.
The pick-up head I am offering is printed from tough nylon and is a faithful reproduction of the original. The conduit box is also faithful reproduction of the original with all of the proper text and round head screws accounted for. The conduit box can be printed in either Nylon or bronze, however the detail is not as sharp on the Nylon version. Price for the pick-up head + conduit box kit in all Nylon is $160. Price for the pick-up head + bronze conduit box kit is $245. Kits include conduit material.
The pick-up head measures 5” wide x 2.5” tall and 7/8” deep. The journal box opening is 2 3/32” with a mounting bolt center-to-center spacing of 2 21/32”.
The junction box measures 1 3/16” long x 1 1/16” tall x ¾” wide.
PM me if interested.
