"Live Steam" BOOK still available ...

Post by keyrouteken »

Just a reminder to everybody that the Live Steam BOOK by the late Charlie Purinton is still available from the publisher and is an excellent history of the pioneers in the Eastern United States that really got this hobby of ours off the ground. Richard Symmes and Larry Urbanski have done an excellent job of sifting thru Charlie's many notes and photos and producing something we can all enjoy !

As far as the history of Live Steam Pioneers in the Western United States is concerned, that is a different story. There are those on other forums who have asked me to try and put something together, but it is a tough assignment.
So far, I have written about 5 1/2 chapters of some historical material and sent a copy to an Eastern publisher along with a CD of some 284 photos to give them a rough idea of the type of material I have at hand so far. No word back so far!
I've never done this before and that's why I asked the Publisher if I'm going "in the right direction". Hopefully, I'll hear back in the next few months and see if it is all worth the bother.
In the meantime, please enjoy all the goodies that our new IBLS website is providing.
