If you are wanting information about a hot air engine, do a search for Stirling engine, not Sterling engine.

Lindsay sells plans for the one piston hot air engine. The title is "Building Stirling 1" by E.T. Warbrooke.

Try this web site http://www.stirlingengines.org.uk/ Browse around and you will find pictures of the single piston engine that use a test tube and a bit of scouring pad for regenerator. Is this what you are looking for? If so send me an Email, I will send you a picture and specs. of one i have built. It runs along a good speed. Lynmn

Plans make it easy to build an engine. I have an original sterling engine built about 1915. I spent 2 weeks making detailed drawings of the fan and all the parts. I have used the plans to build 3 more hot air engines. Each one is a little different but the basic 2" bore engine is the same.
