Hi people;

I found this interesting antique in the woods and was wondering if anyone had any info on this critter?

Here is the engine with the cooling top jacket removed.

last picture. Head is removed and piston is soaking in wd-40. Some one removed the sparkplug and a mouse had made its nest inside.

So far everything is freeing up with the wd-40 and some light tapping with a 2 oz. ball peen hammer.

The engine is 3 feet tall by the same long.

A very good source of information is Harry Matthews' Smokstak: Generators forum

You'll need to register to be able to post to the forum.

On the generators forum, do a search for Western Electric and amongst the dozen, or more, hits you'll find this interesting thread. ... n+Electric
