Hello All,

I'm looking for drawing and/or dimension information of Plymouth diesel/gasoline locomotive radiator cell caps and their placement (gaps between them). Was it standardized for all models or varied depending on the engine?

Thanks,
Karoly

Plymouth designed and built many different locomotives, with as many unique radiator designs.
Some drawings should be available somewhere online.
You don't identify your location, otherwise museums near you could be identified that have Plymouth switchers.

Karoly,

This style of radiator is generically called an artillery style. They were made by the Modine Company. The first to adopt this individual sectional radiators was Milwaukee Locomotive Co in about 1922. By 1925, Whitcomb was using them and Plymouth by about 1928. The individual cores are about 5 inches square and as tall as needed. Coincidentally, it was at the same time, all of these manufacturers also adopted the Cast Name in the top Radiator header.

The 12-ton loco we have has headers 3 and 5/8 by 2 and 7/16 with a gap of about 3/16 between them. If that helps.
