Phoenix Sound PB11V6

Post by kcameron »

I've got a PB11V6 to install in a F7 (Iron Pony) and it isn't working out right, no power to board (according to computer interface. I followed the drawing for riding scale and tried putting power via the P3. I noted the many drawings show many voltages and polarity to P3. I was surprised by the packaging as there wasn't a matching connector for P3. There was a 3 pin connector with brown wires instead of a 2 pin which would fit the board. It took a simple bit of trimming to make a 2 pin out of the 3 pin connector.

If I put the 12V in via the pins 1 and 2, where the drawing shows the motor leads (via a pair of diodes), then the interface says the sound board has power. I did not have the speaker connected at this test, but will try that in the morning. So far, no sound in any combo tried.

I've done installs using the PB8 decoders in the past and not had issues. Granted those were not using motor feedback but following the speed pot.

Has anyone used the PB11V6 for the riding scale configuration? If so which drawing did you follow?
