Arch Support ... no - not for my shoes :-)

Post by ChuckHackett-844 »

I am replacing the arch in my 4-8-4 Northern (firebox about 12" x 18")

Looking for ideas on how to support it so that it is removable but will stay in place during trailering, etc.

This is a single piece arch "Z" bent from 3/32" steel. It can only be accessed when the boiler is lifted and the burner is removed.

I want to be able reach in through the fire door and to drop it off its supports to examine the flue sheet and fusible plug periodically by viewing through the fire door.
Regards,
