It didn't go far. The buyer is in our steam club. He is only 15 mile away. He just joined up last year and built a couple of Boxcar/riding cars. He had been watching DLS and called the same day the ad hit. I didn't know he was even looking for an engine. Some commission going to DLS is a good thing for what Jim O does.
Ordered a combo car from Tom Bee for an engineers car behind the GE. Now got to get building the three foot flatcar for the burro crane. Watch for pic.

Yes, it sure is a little beast. Good thing it has the "grandfather control" on it. I don't let kids run the engine just because they may find out what that knob does. Been working on some hand rails for mine and getting ready for the run season. Too Much Fun...

J T
Hope you make it back to the Southwestern in December, we could have three of them running together again.

Made the 3,000 plus trip at over $1,500.00 expense to pickup my S4 that I was told would be ready and waiting at the track at Michigan Central RR. Came back home with my money and no S4. Spent 12 days Operating on the two railroads while being promised it would get finished. It did not happen.
There will be no S4 for me.

Unconscionable that anyone would put you, or anyone, through something like that. You have my sympathy.

What's wrong with people who can't tell the truth?

Oh No! I don't like hearing of problems with vendors.

I had to cancel an order last spring (different vendor). After unanswered e mails, phone calls not returned and 90 days, Paypal returned some of my money, and the Attorney General went to bat for me. My certified letter was returned! I got my money back.

An e mail to Hartford shops was answered in one day and my order was filled within 2 weeks. This was just prior to Train Mountain's big bash. I had a problem with a motor and it was rectified within 2 weeks.

When things go good they go good, when they go bad, they go really bad.

I am very sorry to hear this JT. I do not understand why Bob insists on lying to everyone, he did the same thing to Ken, he called him and told him the engine was finished but when he started making plans to go get it the he started making excuses, about a month later we flew to Flint and just showed up at his shop, and guess what the engine wasn't even half done. I am happy with my engine it is built very well but I will never recommend for anyone to do business with Bob Snippe again.
