Wood lathe
Building a new 1 1/2 scale tank.car.......need someone with a wood lathe that can turn up the flanged and dished ends out of any hardwood, so they can be epoxied into.the ends of green pvc pipe....pm. Me your snail mail.address, and I can send you a sketch....dimensions are not fussy....using a cardboard template for the radius on the ends is good enough for me....thanks

Re: Wood lathe
Hey hoppercar, 3D printing would also work. I'm doing the it for my 1 3/4" scale tank car on 3 1/2" gauge using an 8" PVC pipe. If you're interested, we could work something out.

A little locomotive with 4 wheels on the track is a lot more fun
than a 1/2 finished one with 16 wheels on the bench!

One of our Kitsap Live Steamers member made a really nice Vanderbilt tender tank for his 1.5" scale Pacific.
The rear domed end of the tender tank was made from a metal Wok cooking pan!
Yes, it had a flat center section several inches in diameter, but the effect was good and making that tank end was relatively simple.
