Just a heads up that we recently featured The Home Machinist Forum's 54 best homemade tools on HomemadeTools.net. Here's a link to the thread:

We share some members between HomemadeTools.net and Chaski.org; hopefully we'll be able to send you more high-quality members by showing off your best tools.

All tools are fully credited to each builder and to Chaski.org, and each one links to the original build thread. Let me know if I've missed any, shoot me if this counts as spam, and keep on making homemade tools. Image

All--

It's neat to see so many familiar names on that site! Some of them are no longer with us. Their recognition is even better.

I built coal miner's scissor knurl and it continues to work extremely well.

Great Link.

To my surprise I found my portable machine shop under my old user name dieselII. I forgot my password world and just sent up a new account.

I have moved this twice and for a total of over 2000 miles.

I would have never guessed it would make the the top 1000 but it was top 54.

Blind squirrel finds an acorn sometimes.

The last time I moved it I jacked and cribbed it with a couple of hydraulic bottle jacks and backed the trailer under it. It was 17,000 lbs. :D

I attached a photo of my son making a few parts in it recently.

That portable machine shop is a fan favorite. Nice to see the machinist-in-training putting it to good use. :D
