Err, as far as I know, to use a VFD, you need a 3 phase motor... i.e., you can't use a VFD on a single phase motor. 110 motors are single phase.

I could be wrong, but I have never heard of this working.

Yep, your right, doesn't work with out a three phase drive motor. Which isn't worth the effort on the mill. Oh well, more sunk time changing belts constantly.
