RAMCO TK380 Collet Assy Removal

Post by mcman56 »

I need to remove the 5C collet mounting assembly from a TK380 to mount a 3 jaw chuck. The back part is easy. I lift a pin and the tube with tightening assy slide right out. However, there is a nose piece that the collet sits in on the other end. How does it come off?

It most likely fits into the spindle taper.

You may be able to tap it out using an aluminum rod through the spindle bore.

I use a bearing splitter to pop mine out as I'm not real wild about hammering against spindle bearings.

Operating machines is perfectly safe......until you forget how dangerous it really is!

It took just the lightest tap from behind.

Thanks!

Hello, I just joined the group. Do you know where I could find a manual for the Ramco TK380 Lathe?
