Tangential Carbide ....

Post by AllenH59 »

I bought a diamond tool holder, and it worked just like it said it would, but I hardly used it. One the weekend I found myself with a bit of extra time, and I milled the the shank on 3/8" brazed carbide to 1/4", and sharpened it as you would a HSS with the holder provided.. the clearance angles were a bit excessive, so I did not take huge deep cuts, but it worked fine. Like the hss one it made long spiral cuttings, but cut very bright in stainless steel. Not to say I will make a bunch of these, it is a way to get a but more use from the holder..
