Ash Tuesday. Ash pan that is. Wed. I'll add the damper to the rear. The short lines that are brazed are cut lines. This allows me to make bends by hand since I don't have a heavy duty brake.

Busy day today, ashpan finished, injector plumbed, axle pump plumbed, pressure gauge fitted and a footplate and water control valves fitted.
Big day planned for Saturday. I'll take Romulus to the local track for a test run!!! I don't have a tender so I'll run plastic tubing to a bucket of water. It will be fun. Oh, I finally got the lubricator primed. Had a fussy check ball and wouldn't pump. It does now.
check out the injector. That is an Enos Yoder original design; a very talented builder.
I hope to post a video on Sunday.

That injector is funky looking. Im curious to see how well it works, looks like one of those fluky British designs in the picture but that says nothing of the internals

He said it works well and that Enos had built many of them. It is very nicely made and by the size of the cones should put out a lot of water. I don't know how it would respond to hot water as in a saddle tank engine.

Enos is quite a craftsman and has built 16 or so engines all of the style in this photo. Nice looking engines.

That locomotive looks familiar... at least parts of it do.

Scott, this one showed up at Mid South a few years ago. This guy built it from Yoder drawings.

Sat. was a success, the engine ran great!! It took some debugging and 3 fireings before all was well and I was able to get on the track. I had to run it on the axle pump but that was fine once I got the air purged.

Today I made the brake shaft and the drop links that hang on it. Also made the manual knob for applying the brakes and the big nut that connects it all together. Long day but lots got done. Just need to make 4 clevises and the connecting rods to tie it all together. These brakes apply via compression rather than compression and are only on the rear axle (per the prints). I did do a different kind of actuation method. But:
That's the brakes!!
