This project was a series of castings that I felt needed finishing together.
I had found 4 of these originally and once I found the plans I figured out what they were for. A soo line covered mill gondola
I also found the cast ribs and enough castings to machine one single 100t modern truck. (Among pther things.)
Truck sideframe next to oakley little modern sideframe.
Had a tender frame I had partially done i decided to see how that looked.
Way too short and boxey looking, I underestimated how much 52ft vs 40ft scale would look so much different.

Re: Railgon mill gondola
Adding sides. The sides are aluminum plate and the ribs are attached from the back with countersunk 8-32 allen flat head bolts. Now that the sides are done time to focus on the ends more. Since the ends are cast aluminum and aluminum doesn't plug weld very well, I used steel sheetmetal and tapped four 1/4" set screws into the aluminum. I then plug welded the sheetmetal to the set screws. A little primer then onto the final details. -Mike

Re: Railgon mill gondola
Well I mentioned I only had enough parts to make one truck, so wheres the other one?
Turns out Tom Bee had the other one that he got from my grandfather with some patterns. He was nice enough to return it.
As returned The two completed minus brakes. -Mike
