Hey Berkman,

yes, the pipe between the frame is the Air Tank.

As you should be! That's a beautifully built engine. I'm overly impressed by how smoothly it runs.

Thats one smooth, quiet drive train...what kind of tolerances do you work too?

Ausdan,

tolerances of what Kind of Parts do you mean?

Engine bed, Rods CNC milled so tolerances from point to point are very small nearly to zero , Bolts are polished to 0.01mm smaller then the roller bearings. Axels can move +/- 2mm, Main wheel is rigid.

Hello Guys,

some work is done on the Engine Truck...

here you see the bottom of the truck and the half shells where the rockers sits.

and here the upper part with the angles..
IMG-20181025-WA0010.jpeg
we have to laser the rockers , the 3D model is ready...

and a sample how it looks under the engine...

Chris, all I can say is "WOW"! Wish I was this far along my C&O J-3a. Love seeing your construction techniques as the Greenbrier are of the same generation of steam as the N&W J's. Especially your pilot truck. Giving some good ideas, for sure.

Would love to see even more photos of the lead truck frame if you have any.

Thanks,

Rob
