Back again…

it was a lot o work to built all those complex shapes, especially the cover underneeth of the smokechamber.
Every Picture you find, this part looks a little bit different.

After the front was almost finished we going over to the side cover.
Not a complicated work, but all those Little hinged flaps is assiduity work :)

Hello My Friends
Very nice! The sheet metal on a streamliner can be a real puzzle, but is one of the things that makes 611 so cool.

Hello colleagues,
thanks for your words. It is a puzzle, with what felt like 1 million parts. But as Jack said, thats what makes the cool look.

kind regards
Chris

I would be afraid to take something like that out and run it...then spend 3 weeks cleaning

Hey Bull,

thats not a Problem, 3 hours of cleaning after a run day is a normal procedure. We do it with industrial cleaner in a spray bottle and brush. Taking out the grates , and cleaning the ashpan with vacuumcleaner. The only problem of cleaning the J will be the smokechamber, but we will find a solution for this problem.

All the best
Chris

Hey Guys,

In full anticipation of the next visit to the USA in May, I would like to show you some progress on the 611, the streamlined cladding is now ready except for the boiler tapes. The next step will only be to lift off the kettle and make the lower cladding. Can't wait a few days on the route in Canton GA. to spend and meet the live streamers there.

Hi,

we know that problem Peter, our Y6b was about 8 years unpainted in service. But it is such alot work to keep all the brass shiny and clean, an advantage is , a good(!) painting upgrades the loco . You can ruin the best builded loco with a bad painting. We will painting the J for sure, i like those reds stripes to much :).
Im so happy Peter to share some time with you, Duncan and Olga at the CSP&P Railway. We changed the Hotel, now we are 10min away from the club, so we can have some beer ;)

All the best Guys
