Hanford Mills - working saw mill, water powered

Post by kcameron »

Hanford Mills Museum
51 County Road 12, East Meredith, NY 13757

http://www.hanfordmills.org/

Working water wheel drives complete shop. Log saw, other parts to make complete boxes.
Small water turbine for the grain mill. Working electric dynamo.
Ice harvest in February.
Special events run the wood burning steam boiler and engine instead of water power.
Other events with lots of hit-miss engines and other relics.

Lots and lots of line shafts, complete millwright shop, they take you all over the mills to see all the parts.

That's near my childhood home and I had never heard of it until now! Thanks for posting. I will visit next trip home. (Sidney. N.Y.)
