North York Moors Railway Steam Service

Post by Glenn Brooks »

My wife and Daughter in law are hiking the Coast to Coast Trail across the north of England. Actually just finished yesterday. When they walked into Robin Hoods Bay, on the east coast, they just caught Pocket Rocket, 76079, a 2-6-0, departing for Pickering and Grosemount. It’s the return trip down the line. You can tell because the Loco is pushing the consist back home.

The Brits love to name their locos. Alas we don’t do that enuf here, “Across the Pond”, as it where.
