Another type of pneumatic railway!

Back to the idea of a pneumatic railway:

It sure seamed in the UK, one inventor had a system where the 'carriage' was not in a pneumatic tube...and ran along the track. I was not able to find a link on that one.

This type of thing would possible be 'easy' to model...on a real small scale...but we certainly would not be riding it...and perhaps could not even see it!

Interesting concept! With a long enough tunnel, I expect that some impressive speed could be achieved.

Very interesting about the Brunel idea. Looks similar to the steam catapults used on aircraft carriers. They use a tube with a rubber sealing strip.
