Grand Scales Muffled Safety valves?

Post by Rwilliams »

For those of us members who are more knowledgeable about the safety valves usually found on the grand scale size locomotive boilers, it seems the offerings are very limited. Even more so is, I have never seen a grand scale steamer equipped with a muffled safety valve.

Even in full size practice, muffled safety valves are often hard to find as the muffler option was always an extra cost item and horses are no longer around to be scared by them while in use.

Is there any current offering of a muffled safety valve in the grand scale size or has such a luxury item ceased to be part of what is now offered ?
