Well, not exactly Park gauge. But it is in a park... and I was definitely riding on the bottom step of the ladder leading up to the valve gear! This is one huge Locomotive.

On display at the California State Railroad Museum, Sacramento, adjacent to their “Old Town” Depot and active track.

I LOVE that Museum!
Nice to see that 4-8-4 displayed. Helps me understand the model being built by the Original Poster in the other thread.

As a kid (pre-museum) I remember climbing up on the one remaining SP Cab Forward that was displayed outside the Sacramento RR Depot,
along with the CP Huntington 4-2-4. I was happy when both those historic locomotives moved inside, when the Museum was built in 1981.

Well, to make this thread a little more "Grand Scale" relevant, Mike Weldon in Fordland, MO has already built a similar 3776 class ATSF 4-8-4 in 1.5" scale and is very well along on a 3" scale version. A few years ago, the running gear was done and the boiler was mounted on the chassis. Not many photos exist that I've seen, but there have been a few videos posted on YouTube here and there if you know what to search for.

She's pretty hefty to say the least!
