SRRL #23 First Run in Maryland

Post by SZuiderveen » Sun Oct 23, 2016 5:59 pm

Yesterday I was privileged to help my friend John Tokar operate his 7 1/2" gauge Sandy River #23 for his first time. This is the culmination of eight years effort on John's part. Ran well for trial runs!

Wow that is one beautiful locomotive! If I had a locomotive that good looking, I might never light it.

Narrow Gauge is the only way to go.

The only crime worse than lighting that locomotive up and getting it dirty, would be not lighting it up and getting it dirty.

Looks great. You can see the effort that went into it.

Does anyone know if these castings can be bought still?
I have always wanted to build one of these. It would be awesome to build one as a 2-6-6-2.

We're at http://allenmodels.com/

The 3 3/4" scale castings are not yet on the site, but it is the next set of castings on the list after getting the 0-4-0 up. We now have all the drawings for the 0-4-0 and I'm getting it ready to go online early next week. After that the Maxi-7 stuff by the end of November, hopefully sooner.

The drawings should available from village press but I can't seem to find it on their online store. I have sent in an inquiry to find out if they are available.

Thank you Harlock for the quick response. I hope you are able to fine out about the drawings. So the castings and parts for the 3.5in scale will be up by years end maybe?
