Hello everyone.
In researching a Sweet Pea project, the design calls for a 5" marine type (Bagnall style) boiler. The design is for all copper. From all the feedback I have seen, the design works and steams well and a few have added a small steam dome to make sure priming does not occur. My question is there is an option for a steel boiler in the design or prints. No published design seems available, but I am sure some have been built. Its larger cousin, the Sweet William, has a steel option published, but nothing for the Sweet Pea.
I am sure just duplicating the design from prints to build a steel boiler is not recommended, not withstanding the issue of reduced steaming ability with the volume reduction when steel is used due the thickness requirements. Has anyone out there seen an example?
Thanks to all,
Jim

Re: Sweet Pea boiler
why not just make it from copper?
Too many things going on to bother listing them.
