Hi all
I’m finally getting back to work after my move. The first thing to finish is the scale Bettendorf Trucks.
These trucks feature an all cored out side frame and bolster.
I can supply them with either a 4 spring or 6 spring arrangement. There are provisions on both spring pads to add an extra spring if needed.
They also have working journal lids not cast on. This hides the zerk fitting for the lubrication.
They are all cast iron with die cast spring pads and journal lids.
The kit will include the four side frames two bolsters, the journal lids and the spring arrangement of your choice, along with the appropriate springs.
I will be making leaf springs to work with these trucks as well.
I am also working on brake rigging to go with them for those that want to use them.
Bearings are another story.
I am not a fan of ball bearings used in truck applications. I’m making a video to show the features of the trucks and in this video I explain why I don’t use them.
I will supply a bronze self aliening bearing at an additional cost and I will give the information for the ball bearing that I recommend, described in the drawings provided.
I also have wheels available at an additional cost. Some builders prefer a steel wheel as opposed to an iron wheel. I have iron wheels available.
I’ll have the video up in a few days but for now here are some pictures.
PM me if your are interested.
The price, to be announced. I think you will be surprised
