Re: WRENCHES!!!!
I DOUBT that you will find the need for anything other than 64ths.
I have several steam unions that require 17/64 and 19/64 open ends.
what is more remarkable is that I have several sets of old ignition wrenches (as described) that include these sizes.
You can also find some metric wrenches that will fit the bill.
Try Horizon Hobbies / Hobby Lobby / Great Planes for sizes of little wrenches

Too many things going on to bother listing them.

Re: WRENCHES!!!!
For nut drivers I found a Wiha brand 8 piece set #26591 gives a good range of imperial sizes. However, I had to supplement them with a 4.5 mm driver from the same manufacturer. AME apparently uses 4.5mm hex stock for their #4 bolts and nuts.
Re: WRENCHES!!!!
I've run into that and wondered what it was. #4 is a useful size too.Dick_Morris wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 12:26 am For nut drivers I found a Wiha brand 8 piece set #26591 gives a good range of imperial sizes. Re: WRENCHES!!!!
Actually, AME says that the #4-40 hex heads are 11/64", which is 0.172". A 4.5mm is 0.177" so it's the closest you're likely to find. I'm going to have to get one of those as well, so thanks for the part number. I ordered a bunch of #4-40 hex bolts, and no nut driver set that I've found has an 11/64" one in it. They all go from 5/32 straight to 3/16". I have a really nice Proto 1/4" drive socket set, but the smallest in it is 3/16".
Re: WRENCHES!!!!
Long ago I acquired a small socket set designed specifically for the model hex bolts. AME should sell those.
I even acquired a second set to keep one set with my locomotive.
Works fine all the time.

Re: WRENCHES!!!!
I just went out and measured the #4s at .171". There is a little slop with the 4.5mm, but I suspect I could break the bolt before rounding the head.
Re: WRENCHES!!!!
is there a socket head metric bolt that uses a 4.5mm Allen wrench? I have made nut drivers from socket head screws before.
Just googled and found this:
https://www.amazon.com/T4840XESD45-Prec ... B0052CDM92
they are a bit proud of it though.
And this one:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools ... 21&cj=true
more reasonable price.

Re: WRENCHES!!!!
On the CK (manufacture's) web site the one from Amazon is listed as 4.5mm and 11/64".
I did some searching for an allen screw with a 4.5mm drive and didn't find one. If they are out there they aren't a standard size.

Try any supplyer of computer building tools, as there are many small nuts and bolts used to mount motherboards and other parts to the frame of the housing.
