Got Logs?

Post by johnpenn74 »

CSME Logging Meet 2018 July 4

Rodney, Amber and I pulled out the donkey and decided to move some logs over the 4th of July Holiday. We ran 2 different configurations. The first was a variable sky line and mainline. This let us drop the entire cabling rigging to get the shuttle down to the logs. The 2nd was a "Standing skyline with a operable carriage. This allowed us to raise and lower the hood to tying on the load.

Looks like fun. Your pic of the Skidder line setup and description was most educational.

My logging 2-8-2 steamer is close to getting boiler certification, and first track tests. Hopefully in August.
I look forward to providing train power to some local logging meet here.

John,

Looks good!

Bring that rig to MCC for the logging meet and we will have some Shays, a Climax and a Heisler to move the logging cars. Plus the logging line itself with the two switchbacks to provide some work for the locos.
