My first question to this forum after I joined was a source for a smokebox inspection cover.
I couldn't find one and there wasn't any suggestions for one, so I drew one up myself, had it 3D printed, and cast it in bronze.
I installed it this Saturday.
The chain mount should be a pipe mount, but I didn't make one, so until I do, the chain may be left hanging.

Very nice Karl!
Re: Smokebox Inspection Cover
Thanks guys, it's only taken 6 years.
The cover can be removed, but there is no hole behind it.
Off to the paint shop next.

Re: Smokebox Inspection Cover
Hey Karl followed your website for years, and still waiting for you to finish it (ha-ha) . I remembered when you asked about a drawing for that cover, sorry I didn’t have a drawing at that time, but got a drawing of the cover when I ordered the drawings for the Mikado from the NYC Historical Society. Looks great.

Thanks little giant,
I fully admit not have done much on the web site in quite a while. I guess I prefer to work on the locomotive
I drew it in a 3D package from the pictures in the Locomotive Cyclopedia (1922 and 1941), so I hope I got it close enough.
