Yes, is would be cool to have a copy of the index. Without access to the magazines. it would pretty much be useless though.

That index only goes to 1989, which is only a portion of what we are looking for.

I wrote to the C&O Historical Society to ask about their possible ownership of "Modeltec" magazine, and this was their reply:
C&O Historical Society does not have rights to Modeltec Magazine, nor any connection with it. The website you referenced in your message says we do. This is entirely incorrect and if you know how to correct it, we would appreciate it.

Other than our own magazine which we have published since 1969, the only other magazine to which we have rights and have published digital files is Bob Hundman's Mainline Modeler.
The original poster said "C&O Tech Society", but I could not find such a group on Google.

I have a complete set of MODELTEC mag. I would like to have an index CD copy if anyone the has one to make a copy of it. I would gladley pay you for it. I was building a Plymouth Switcher but the Mag. quit before Tom Artzberger,PE could finish his plans. Modeltec printed Parts 1 thru 9 and there probably was 10 or 12 to finish. does anyone know if Tom Artzberger ever printed his plans any where else ?

Tom was reachable via the email on his PLE site Hartford Shops, www.tacllc.biz as of two years ago. Hopefully he's still active.

Okay, so in 1992 it looks like there were 11 issues published: all but September. I note that the August issue is labeled (Vol. 9, No. 4) and the October is labeled (Vol. 9, No. 5). This would imply that there was no issue between them (or else it would be No. 4.5)!

This link (http://ibls.org/mediawiki/index.php?title=Modeltec), provided on page one of the threads, doesn't indicate that September 1992 is missing. Could someone with a complete 1992 year check and see if they have one? Perhaps it just was mistakenly omitted when adding up the numbers. If someone does have it, a picture of the cover would be nice.

Thanks.

My complete collection of Modeltec magazines is as you described:
No September 1992 issue, with sequential numbers August and October.

I remember that the publisher had occasional lapses in publication, for unknown reasons. Personal challenges I suspect.
The issues would arrive later and later in each month until the publisher finally eliminated a month to catch up.
That's probably what you are seeing.

Please note the that Modeltec magazine listing on the IBLS website cited above shows the issues currently on hand in the IBLS Library. It is not a comprehensive list of all issues ever printed.
