An interesting roll-around donkey

Post by Greg_Lewis » Sun Jun 30, 2019 12:29 pm

Thought you'd get a kick out of this donkey engine I saw today at the Chasewater Railway Museum about 15 miles north of Birmingham, England. It looks like the axle is placed just right so it will balance when the rig is hooked up to whatever is towing it.

Here's one that shows the engine better. Sorry for not getting this first but I'm working with an iPad here.

And there it is. (My excuse for not reading the sign is that I was in a hurry to get on the train.) An interesting design regardless.
