To start off, here's one of mine filmed in 2015 @ the Montreal LS. I hope you enjoy it.

The 4-8-4 Northern is mine, built by my grandfather, Jim Turnbull, in 1942. Steven Di Carlo is on the throttle. The green engine is Keith Wood with his 10-wheeler built by Bill Van Brocklin.

Side note: the 1-1/2" 4-6-0 is a "Turnbull" 10-wheeler built in 1972 and the engineer is "Frank THe Train" Desaulniers.

Jim you guys really have a great high line. I found this and think this and part 2 from Waushakum in 1985 are the ultimate high line videos of all time, complete with traffic congestion! Has George Dimond in it too!

Here's a trip around the NJLS High-line in ~2010 on what was then my Ralph Francis Hudson, which is now in the care & custody of a club member at MLS. https://youtu.be/-q78NqiON1c

Here are a couple of videos showing my CPR Hudson #2888 steaming at the MLS and the GHLS track in Les Cedres and Hamilton, respectively.

Jim,

Is there a map somewhere of the tracks at MLS? I try following along and can't quite fit all the curves and other lines together to make sense of it.

Hi Ken,

Here's a layout from the proposal back in 1999. It's not drawn to scale, the steaming bay layout is not like this, there are now enginehouses (not shown) and there is no pedestrian bridge.

The mainline is approximately 1370-feet long.

The layout can be run in either direction, preferably not at the same time. First train out determines the direction.

Here are a couple of the Iowa Model Steam Engineers. The 1" 060 is dad's and the 280 was mine.

How do you embed a YouTube Video?
When I try all I get is a link inside the YouTube quotes after pressing the YouTube button.

Easy!

Code: Select all

https://youtu.be/fzB4PhTg7Gg

One uses only the last portion of the link. Once it is entered, highlight the link portion, then hit the youtube button.
Note that I have used code so you can see how the text is entered. If I didn't use it, the link would be activated and you couldn't see how it was entered. That said, you would NOT use code.

Does this help?
