Stolen Locomotive Parts Recovered

Post by SteveR »

Here's a link to a news item titled "800 pounds of stolen locomotive train parts located at Santa Maria recycling center, police say ". The link is here:
https://lompocrecord.com/news/local/cri ... ff24e.html.

Looks like one of the large scale locomotives.

In the days of the Old West, cattle and horse rustlers when caught usually ended up getting lynched. Shame we can't do that now with thieves.

Are those the 3" scale Seymour Johnson Hudson brass/bronze parts? There were a few sets of those up at the Santa Margarita Ranch. I guess some thief got into the container.

Yes, these were castings from Seymour Johnson's spectacular 3" scale 15" gauge NYC Hudson. The thief did not try and take the main frames or the 20"+ diameter driver castings as those are very large pieces that would probably take 2 or more guys to manhandle and are not bronze.
