C & O historical society doesn't have the mechanical drawings for the Allegheny. I believe the California State Railroad museum does. To the best of my knowledge, Truson's drawings went to Roger Goldman but I may be wrong on that, Rob Gardner may have a better idea on that.

I spoke to Roger on the phone a couple of weeks ago. I have sent out for the drawings he has, don’t know when I’ll get them

Might be possible to adapt some currently offered castings, perhaps RRSc mikado or some of RG's 4-6-2 cylinders for the 2-6-6-6. Not sure if Jim's 2-8-4 drive wheels or lead truck parts would be helpful. I'd think that would massively shave time off the project vs custom patterns or fabricating the cylinder blocks.

It will certainly be something that I look into. The drive wheels from Jim’s 2-8-4s may work, I will have to get the drawings for it to compare to the H8.

I have Jim's drawings and will check on the drivers, as compared to the Allegheny drawings in the book: The Allegheny Lima's Finest by Eugene Huddleston & Thomas Dixon. The Berkshire had 69" drivers as compared to 67" on the Allegheny, and the Berk had 25/26" x 34 bore and stroke versus 22.5 x 33 . If it were me I would use Jim's castings if at all possible.

The Berk is also 1.5 scale vs this H8 possibly being 1.6 so the drive wheel size would be nearly dead on, or could be machiend slightly differently than drawings to match the 67

Ahhh..., you found it Tim! Thank you! I had seen that video years ago and had been searching for it as another resource for these gentlemen.

Weren't you at one time working on a 2-6-6-2 ? How's it coming if so?

Yes that was me. I haven't touched it in years. I stopped working on it to rebuild my daughter's consolidation, and then I decided to build another RR supply Mikado. Also working on an engine for a friend of mine, I would like to get back on it someday though.

Gotcha, ya projects change with life etc.
what castings were you using for it just curious?

A pair of RRSC mikes would be something to see.
