Ah, I remember that one from when I was a little squirt. The ending is a classic.

I wish modern locomotive art/cartoons were as accurate in locomotive design as those old productions.
Fun to see again.

A wonderful classic.
Inspiration for Disney's Carrolwood Pacific?
Or the other way around...

Thanks for the fun.

Hello My Friends
Wonderful cartoons, thanks for the links. The color one is really cool. Very well done. I"ll take Porky's little tea kettle over the Silver Fish anytime! I'll have to remember the bit with the pepper next time I stall out on a hill. OK while we are having fun, here is another of my all time favorites. A very old silent Our Gang film from. There are some cool shots of what looks like the Santa Fe in Southern California. Hal Roach and his crew did a fine job and obviously knew a bit about railroading, with train order boards, and hooping up orders.
Too Much Fun.

Whew. Regardless of the lack of steam today there is no way they could make this today. OSHA and CPS would have a coronary. Yes, the camera is undercranked and there are quick cuts but if you look closely there are lots of Very Dangerous stunts going on there. Even if they're using a stunt double (and it would not surprise me if the didn't) check the run-over scenes at 4:57, 5:08 and 5:21. And check when the cop almost gets his foot run over at 19.08.
