I have a 20# CO2 tank that I use primarily for inflating tires. In the past I used it to power nail guns as well. I tried to use it to power a fairly large stationary engine model at a show, but without success. I get plenty of pressure, but the volume drops off too quickly. For the same reason I can use the tank with an impact wrench but not a grinder.

I ran the skidder/loader by using a bottle of CO2 that I got from the local Coca-Cola plant and the engine ran very well although the bottle became frozen to the dining room floor! Once ran a Stuart #9 mill engine on Freon 12 at a gun show in Memphis, but that is another story.
