, why re-invent the wheel?
Hptwin, there are a number of us who would like to speak to you about using your die to have a fairly large amount of rail run. Are you open to discussion?

Thanks

A little locomotive with 4 wheels on the track is a lot more fun
than a 1/2 finished one with 16 wheels on the bench!

I too am looking for 8 pound profile rail but in aluminum for portable track. I have several sticks of 8 pound steel that is just too heavy to move, but hesitate to get rid of it, very hard to come by.

(I don’t know why they always end up upside down!)

Hi Mike,

I’ve been looking for larger aluminium rail and have been advised to just ‘have 10,000 feet extruded!’, researching such a thing, there are no aluminum extenders in Idaho or Utah so it would have to go to one of the west coast foundries, beyond my ability and budget to do such a thing since at this time I only need about 1000 feet and maybe 5000 feet total in the future. I am kind of wanting to distribute a live steam product, so maybe this could be a start...
