Besides running his engines at GGLS and other club tracks, the late Harry Dixon also had a short "high" track at his home in Hayward, CA... The "Dixie Short Line"...

In the attached newspaper clipping, Harry is in the bottom photo entertaining some neighborhood kids behind his 3/4" scale, "Dixie Dee".
The top two photos show visitor, Captain Gary Kubicek, former Korean POW, member of GGLS, and future Charter Member of LALS.

Enjoy.

OK Sir-- As long as we're talking "Bob Harpur", how about this shot from long ago ??

The late GGLS member "Bill Bay" driving Harry Dixon's "Dixie Belle" at the GGLS old location in Redwood Regional Park, Oakland, CA. Bill's wife is directly behind him and behind her is "Connie Harpur" (Bob Harpur's wife) ....

Cheers.

Ken,
I recently was browsing here and found just a clipping of a guy in Cle Elum, Washington who was
pictured with a small locomotive he built. I have relatives who came from that area and I'd
like to find the clipping again but I can't find it.

Can you help me?

Gordon French

Oscar and his Invicta. It wasn't a spring meet at LALS without him. Somewhere in the archives is a photo of Oscar's Invicta with his daughter and Chet Peterson's Northern with his grandson racing along the north side of the railroad.
