Anyone nows the Story behind this 1" Scale 2-8-2, was it scratch built or how much commercial made castings where used?

Don't know if this is the same loco, but Bob Darden (now deceased) of Richmond, VA scratchbuilt a 1" scale 4501 about 25 years ago. I believe it was sold to someone in Nebraska.

That engine belongs to Jessi Krebs. He's a member of our 1" RR club in Goehner, Nebraska. I do believe he did purchase it from a gentleman somewhere along the East Coast. There are additional photos here:

It must be the same loco. Bob Darden fabricated most of the parts including the cylinders from steel. I don't know where the wheels came from. Most of the work was done on a Myford lathe and a Clausing 8520 mill. Very nicely-detailed engine.
