Just a note to our live steam friends who might want to get out of the house on what should be a beautiful day, we'll be having a non-public hauling run day on New Year's Day at the Riverside Live Steamers.

Shorts and t-shirt. Whole lot better than shoveling snow. Not that I would know how.
The other railroad passion...signals.

Jim, you have it to easy. New Years eve I drove to Brooklyn, NY for the whistle blast at Pratt Institute. The whistle blast is run by Conrad Milster who also runs the school power house. He and his team provide steam for heating the school complex, they no longer generate electric power. Conrad has been at the school for decades and is extremely knowledgeable about steam engines and boilers.
We left Brooklyn about 3 A. M and drove back to the Waushakum meet in Holliston, MA.
I finally got some sleep late Wednesday and woke up to a snow storm Thursday morning.
Where is global warming when you need it?

Jim;
Missed you guys but I was there in spirit. Teased some friends back east about getting too much sun. Howard's story was interesting, then it got me really laughing. Thanks for the chuckle.
