The pictures of this beast do not do it or it's builder any justice!!...it has to been seen in person to grasp the shear size, beauty and craftsmanship of this true Thoroughbred.
It should be noted that this locomotive is the first assembled from parts made from all the new tooling and rebuilt Little Engines Northern patterns and to my knowledge is probably the first of what was the old Northern to be completely built in more than 25 + years
I spent the last 5 years retooling and making design changes to this project at an incredible expense and seeing this engine really makes it worth it...Both my Lackawanna Hudson and Pauls G&W 9100 were the driving force to start the rebuild of the patterns and I finished all of them in time for Paul to build his Northern and Pam (Hudson Honey) to build her Hudson.....next up Paul is going to help me assemble my Northern,which will be Lackawanna Pocono 1637 we machined most of it during Paul and Pams build but I have not had the time to assemble it.
My hat is off to Paul and the reflection of the sun off my bald head has him in the spot light...he can no longer be considered a beginer,in my eyes but that now of a model craftsman..a jeweler of sorts
I hope seeing these big engines will help inspire others to take on and start a dream project like Paul..
This design is the original Little Engines 1-1/2" scale Locomotive as designed by Martin Lewis and Seymore Johnson in 1947...it has gone through many hands and hard times as well as now improved design changes...it is alive and well for anyone who wishes to build

I suspect I should know this, but 1.5 or 1.6? I'm guessing the latter.

well it actually scaled out to 1.65 the way Paul built it, we put slightly larger smoke boxes on them and with the increased Jacket size that is what it worked out to..not perfect scale but it works

Absolutely gorgeous! What an incredible piece of work. Congrats, Paul! She's a beauty. Would love to see some video of her running if possible.

Paul, That is such a beautiful engine! You should be very proud, my friend. My hat is off to you and Mike for the creation of such a magnificent engine. If it pulls even 1/2 as good as it looks, it will indeed be something to see.
