Cool! Everyone needs a good project.

Can you tell me a little about your lathe? Is it a Tray Top? Swing? Looks like a pretty nice machine!

Harold

A second look revealed it's a 19" swing.
Awesome!

Very nice lathe, Paul. Can you share with us why you chose to paint all of your machines blue? Also, what prototype or design will this latest Northern follow?

It will be another ALCO Northern

we actually (Paul, Pam and I) starting building 3 engines all together 3 or so years back, we were gang maching parts, life, work and lots of other stuff keep getting in my way and it leaves me no time to build any more, so with almost all of the major machine work done Paul is doing me a great favor and assembling the beast, I have the tender here at home....Thanks Paulie!!...guess now I am gunna owe you $18.00...lol

during it's assembly we will be testing a few possible design changes to see if they will work to make some more improvments

It will be Lackawanna 1637, a Q4 Pocono

here is a line drawing of it along with my Hudson 1154
Line drawing side small.jpg
Here is film footage of the real 1637

Here is a link to some tech specs on the Poconos
