Big Dave,

The shots so far are closeups and don't show too much of the mess, I have some shots coming up that will give the whole picture; then you may change your opinion .

Jose, as you will soon see, the shop is too small, at least as I now have it arranged.

More new (to me) cabinets. More space to put stuff that once cluttered bench tops and cabinet tops.

Nice shop!
Does your DoAll have the blade welder?

Harold,

Thanks. No, it doesn't have a blade welder. What I have done in the past is buy a blade, or blades, on Ebay to size (120") or buy larger and take them to the blade shop to have them cut to size and welded ($10). I have since built a jig to silver solder the blades but haven't tried the process yet. Still need to learn more about it.

My next post will show what really keeps me busy in the shop. You may guess what it is from our visit early last year, or was it the year before? How time flies.

Jack.

By the way, I have solved the mystery of all time; why the days seem shorter the older you get:lol:.

Seems like only yesterday, but it has to be a year ago!

Looking forward to more pics. Still pondering those Buick brake drums?

See pics below. I bought Wilson Welding hubs to adapt the Buick drums to the ford spindles but I could have machined the ford hubs to fit (although they would have been weaker). Also, I edited my post above.

Pics of what keeps me busy in the shop. The pics in the post above show the backing plates unpainted. Haven't decided what color to paint them yet.

I just finished the install of the DRO and scales on my lathe. Boy I'm glad I don't do this for a living, because I would starve. It took me about 40 hours to do it right.
