How large is the burner in; L, H, W?

The burner for 7 1/4 " measures about 2 x 2 x 1 inches (L x W x H). The one used for my class 44 1167 is a bit smaller. It's fixed to the frame / front of the ashpan with just one srew from the side for easy access.
The ring at the oil nozzle in combination with the small pan beneeth is to avoid any spilling of fuel to the ground. Steam is throttled by an external valve while oil is adjusted directly at the nozzle. Power / oil may be throttled smokless from about 2 pounds to 10 pouns per our.

The gear provides a wider angle (about 120 %) for the throttle lever in the cab. It turns the outside oil nozzle by means of a fine thread of 12x1 mm.
May the drawings* will explain a little better the function of th inside steam nozzle of diameter 0.5 to 0.7 mm, surrounded by the wider and adjustable oil nozzle of 1.6 to 1.8 mm. Diameters depend on size, intended preasure of the (superheated) steam and type of oil. The burner is lifting the oil (diesel, petroleum, light oil) by generating a light vacuum. Bio-diesel will be atomazed too, but needs to be preheated.
