WANTED Blueprints for Mercer 0-4-0 camel Back

Post by Painter590 »

I'm a newbie to this hobbies and I bought a live steam locomotive minus the boiler. The previous owners I was told ran it low.

Gene 618-five 8 0 - seven five 25.

I need a couple of pages from the original blueprints. Pages 12-13-14.

I have these pages but they are unreadable.

That sounds like a fair price. Boilers are one of the most expressive items on a locomotive.

Gene,

You can not go wrong with a boiler from Marty Knox. He is a great guy to deal with and you get what you pay for with him. When you get a boiler from him you know it will be done right the first time and be a real quality piece.

Thank you to every one. I found a set of blue prints for this mercer 0-4-0.

But pages 12-14 are pretty much unreadable.

But the prints are for a copper boiler. I have those same prints.

Go with the Ridge boiler. You will be happy with it.

Yes I understand the original blue prints are for a copper boiler. But at least now that I have the prints I can correctly refer to the parts by there correct names. I can also see part A goes with part B.

That Camelback is a delightful locomotive. If it's your first live steamer, you've picked a beauty. If you decide to part with the chassis you have, expense or whatever, I know someone who will purchase it as is, where is. If you go ahead, the boiler advice you've received above is spot on.

Here is why I need some better blue prints. Can't read most of the writing.
