Pyle National Turbo generator MO-6

I have a Pacific steam locomotive that I purchased recently that has a Pyle National Turbo generator MO-6 on it. It does not have a regulator on the locomotive for the generator.

Does anybody have a regulator or know where I ca get one?

A manual for that generator would be nice to have or a copy of the manual.

I found three e-books on the subject. Just do a Google book search on Westinghouse Air Brake or Cross-compound pump, or similar.

I'd send you the pdf's, but they are large.

This is my Moseley M06 that I purchased from Francis new in 1981($220 at that time!). You can see the small regulator next to the generator long with the conduit and teflon-coated wire he included. You can also se the manual that was also included. It was very simple.

Here is a Picture of the one I just took off my pacific.
My problem is it was not hooked up nor did it have a regulator.
I am looking for a regulator, a manual or copy of a manual and a spec sheet on it.
If anyone knows where I can get these I would really appreciate it.

I will say, building regulators in general can be easy. Making one of that size can be hard considering the tolerances. I work with air and steam based regulators as a nuke mechanic so you could machine one, it just depends on wanting an external pressure sensing line or an internal one. Each has its ups and downs especially due to size. Also does anyone have any recommendations for machining castings of a steam generator and what to do to make it fully functional? I bought some a couple months ago and I really just don't know where to start and I don't want to incorrectly machine it because they're very hard to come by.

RRSC regulator from their 1980 catalog. Probably $75 now, maybe more. I'm pretty sure he still sells these. Not worth it to me to machine these myself even if they were $200 a piece or MORE!

I paid $220 for my Moseley generator back in early 1981. Now they sell for $1500-$2000 each......IF YOU can find one! Mine is brand new and out of the box once for a photo. Purchased this one from Francis Moseley personally over the phone. He told me it was expensive, but that he would back it up personally. Happy that he talked me into buying it.

I drew up the plans of a Mosely Generator regulator many moons ago.
I posted them I believe here on Chaski's steam site.
Also the steam railroading magazine that was started in Sacramento over 10 years ago ( age related recall failure)
used the drawing in their second issue. So if you have those issues , maybe you can find them.

If I found one for sale and the seller allowed payments. I would buy one in a heart beat. Being in the lower end of the military limits expenditures on certain things. So unless someone has any idea for how I can take my castings to fully functional. I may still end up buying one as stated above if the seller allows payments.
