Quick-Disconnect fittings for air brakes (Part # needed)

Post by Phil Tucker »

Anyone know the Manufacturer# or Part# for the plastic quick-disconnect hose fittings at LALS, and where they can be purchased?

I don't mean the bulkhead fittings, just the plastic "twist-on" fittings that connect the air line between cars. Thanks!

What kind of connectors are we talking about? Are they better (and/or cheaper) then Clippard MQC screw on fittings?

Do those serve as 'break away fittings' also?

Thanks,

Ahhh. So those are used for "glad hands"? A short hose from each car and they meet in the middle? I seem to recall those fittings from a long time ago on a pnumatics project on a job..... trying to remember the name of the company...

Thanks,
Pete (new at this stuff)

The name fits with what I sorta remember and they look right....

Specifically:

Here is one half of the coupling (like shown in the previous photo):

Here is the other half:

Hope that helps!

So, not exactly like a glad hand. You need a male and a female part. Not a real problem unless you swap direction of the cars.

No, not the same. However, if there is a bulkhead mounted female (or male) on the car ends, and a hose with two male (or female) ends, then the hook up is un-sexed. But the connector is not in the middle of the hose....

Where are the scale glad hands hidden??? Does no one make them?
