Injector Orientation

Post by RickBarb »

Is the operation of a steam feed water injector affected by the orientation of the injector?

considering that most of them have an internal check valve that assumes gravity is 'thatta way'...I would say yes.....
Too many things going on to bother listing them.

Perhaps this article (image) could be posted at a higher res? It's not really possible to read otherwise. Looks interesting though!

Super Scale economy injectors have a spring loaded check valve and I usually see them mounted vertical. Mine is mounted that way and works just fine.

RickBarb,

In whatever web browser you are using right click on the image and select open in a new tab.
Hover your mouse over the image and you should see a plus sign, if you click it will enlarge a bit more.
While on that tab you can also press the "Ctrl" key and your "+" key which will zoom your entire browser in (a big help when you forget the glasses down stairs  )

Or just left click over the article and it opens to read just fine. But right click and open new tab does achieve a larger copy.
And thank you for the article.

If the check valve is spring loaded then I does not matter which way it is. Horizontal or vertical. I have a pair of superscale economy's mounted horizontally in my cab, they have been working fine for the last 7 years.
