AAR Class B trucks

Post by OddDuck »

I have begun casting parts for my version of AAR Class B trucks. I will have at least three sets done by this weekend. Price will be $600 per set. I do not take pre-orders, I will only sell them when I have a complete set in hand. If you are interested, however, let me know and I will give you the heads up first when they are done. For this first batch it will be Paypal only, shipping not included in the price. Stay tuned for updates.

Due to circumstances beyond my control ( water heater in my house poo'd the bed...) completion of the first sets of trucks is going to be delayed by a couple of weeks. I was trying to get them completed before a scheduled family vacation. I've got about a third of the parts cast. If you were interested, please be patient and I'll have them done as soon as possible.
This is exactly why I don't like to take pre-orders, life seems to intervene at random intervals.

With one thing and another this month, I didn't get the truck sets done at the beginning of the month. However, got back out in the foundry this past weekend and made good progress. I have a few more sets of journal boxes and ellipticals to go and then on to the side frames. I plan on having two or three sets ready for sale by the weekend.

ODF is proud to announce that I FINALLY have a set of AAR class B trucks for sale. They are 1/8th scale, 7.x gauge. One set is complete, sets 2 and 3 by the end of the weekend. They are $600.00 per set, plus $40 for shipping ( 1 large USPS flat rate and 1 medium). Paypal only for the first several sets.
I am still in the process of writing up some basic assembly instructions, I will email them to the purchasers as soon as possible. They are not detailed instructions, I'm not a machinist and I can only offer suggested methods. I also recommend that you have machine tools available for assembly.
I am not offering wheels at this time, I'm trying to keep the price reasonable. You will get all the parts you see in the picture.

Three kits ready to go! Get 'em while they're hot. Truth be told, some of the parts in the third set were still warm from just being cast. All boxed up and ready to mail.

I am going to temporarily discount the truck kits, I still have all 3 available and would like to move them. Over the next month or so I am going to finish up the prototype set, and seeing how it is almost Christmas shopping season, I am dropping the price on these three sets to $400 each. This price will be good until Christmas or until I get the prototype set done, whichever comes first. Again, three sets available, all boxed and ready for immediate shipping.
